Couple of days back…..I got bored of watching those goofy-comical movies on my Netflix. I went to the search box and typed “Oscar winning movies based on real life”(trust me some amazing movies will pop-up), the first movie that popped was “Midnight Express”.

The horrifying 1978 movie, Midnight Express is based on the true events written in the book of Willam (Billy) Hayes(portrayed by Brad Davies) during his teenage when he travelled to Turkey with his girlfriend for vacation and was caught smuggling 2 KILOS of Hash tapped to his body and was sentenced 30 years of imprisonment.

This movie thrashed Turkish tourism to its very bad level because of the end result being very violent and the brutality Hayes faced during his prison time and the judicial system being very cruel.

This Alan Parker directed movie won 2 Academy Awards for Best Screenplay and Best Original Score.

Poor Billy corporates with the police by giving them the extra hash he hid in his shoes (which they couldn’t find) and happily clicks his picture with the raided hash and the stupid police officers who just wanted to be on the front…
