The Grand Budapest Hotel tells of a legendary concierge at a famous European hotel between wars and his friendship with a young employee who becomes his trusted protégée. The story involves the theft and recovery of a priceless painting, the battle for an enormous family fortune and sudden changes that transformed Europe during the first half of the 20th Century.

The star-studded movie has an amusing cast as Ralph Fiennes & Tony Revolori take on the leading role, opposed by Adrien Brody, William Dafoe in Negative roles respectfully, & Edward Norton as a supporting character playing a Government Official. It also includes appearance from Jeff Goldblum, Owen Wilson, Bill Murray, Tilda Swinton, Harvey Keitel as various other characters who play an important role in the building of the story. A fun fact is that Wes Anderson managed to wrap the movie with a budget of US $25 Million with shooting done in USA & Germany. Majority of the movie was made via miniature effects and a bit with green screen.

It is a partly directly stop-animation movie by the genius Wes Anderson, who has given many classic animations where you can feel the characters emotions throughout the movie, the adult act like children and the children act like the adult. The movies are full of colours and most of the movie revolves around sets, try watching Anderson’s other creation such as The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou.

Anderson’s characters in the movie act as cartoons do as you might remember watching at a young age which can be funny to some and annoying to some but overall the set of the movie will make you forget everything annoying.

The costumes and the make-up selected for each character was on point, Adrien Brody’s character will give you a pure villainous vibes, again you can enjoy this 100 minutes light-hearted comedy drama alongside your better half and you will be not disappointed. I would give my 10/10 recommendation to watch during Co-vid lockdown to divert your mind from the negativity.

At the end, I want to take a moment to tell you who is reading this take care of yourself mentally and physically and always remember your loved ones no matter how far they are, call them, text them & most importantly do not forget to tell them how much you love and appreciate them.
